(Los Angeles, May 7, 2008) POWER UP, the only non profit, volunteer run, gay studio announced the new 2008 List "10 Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz" and its awardees. The award recognizes Amazing Gay Women who are working, creating and changing lives as they continue their way up the ladder of success. The recipients will receive their award at the 8th Annual Power Premiere Celebrity Gala November 9, 2008 in Hollywood California.

POWER UP's main purpose has been producing films though its filmmaking program. POWER UP's successes include having a film as an Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival for four years in a row. The individual success stories that have sprung from the group include writer/director Angela Robinson (HERBIE: FULLY LOADED), writer/director Jessica Sharzer (untitled DUSTY SPRINGFIELD project), writer Cherien Dabis (producer L WORD) writer/director Colette Burson (THE RICHES). "We have modeled POWER UP after the studio system with all of the benefits of an independent production company," Founder and Executive Director Stacy Codikow stated, "bringing together the best of the best.." Currently POWER UP's first feature film ITTY BITTY TITTY COMMITTEE is playing the film festival circuit, winning awards and was theatrically released last year.

"We are extremely proud of POWER UP's many accomplishments and feel that including the 10 Amazing list allows us to recognize many more women in our community," stated Lisa Thrasher, president of Film Production & Distribution. "I'm thrilled to be recognized by POWER UP. It's an impressive organization that's launching careers and creating outstanding films along the way," remarked Samantha Sprecher, Vice President of Development at Face Productions.

"It's an honor to be included on POWER UP's growing list of such incredible women. If by being out and visible as a successful professional in the visual effects and animation industry, one more woman can be inspired to stand among us, I feel an immense sense of pride" said Jenny Fulle, Executive Vice President, Sony Pictures Imageworks.
