I always thought seven was a lucky number. In the Hebrew, seven (Sheh'-bah)
came from a root word that means ‘to be complete or
full’. Number seven means Spiritual perfection and it
represents the Holy Spirit itself. Seven is also the seal
of God. He sealed His approval of the creation by resting
on the seventh day.
In Chinese culture the number seven symbolizes ‘togetherness’.
It is a lucky number for relationships. It is also one of
the rare numbers that considered to be great and lucky in
both Chinese and Western cultures.
Wait, I lost my point…oh, yeah. Who would’ve
thought that after L1 Convention was held in London in 2005,
we would see L7
|
coming up? I was hoping this day would come and I’m very
excited that it’s happening next year.
And even more good news…it’s not at Blackpool. Not
that I have anything against Blackpool anymore but it’s always
exciting to explore new places. L7
Convention is going to be held at Hilton Metropole Hotel in
Birmingham. If anyone who’s reading this is as ignorant about
geography as I am, it’s Birmingham, UK, not Birmingham, Alabama.
Alabama was my initial thought and I was slightly excited about
it because it would mean that I don’t have to deal with visas
and long foreign travels. However, it is indeed Hilton in Birmingham,
UK. I had to google it and it’s somewhere in the middle of
the country. By all accounts, the hotel is fantastic, cheap with
Convention code discount and they even serve continental breakfast
along with the traditional British breakfast. Thank goodness I don’t
have to look at orange eggs and mushy beans again.
As usual, Sean Harry, the Convention organizer, promised six wonderful
guests. Two guests had been already announced, Lauren Lee Smith
(Lara Perkins) and Leisha Hailey (Alice Pieszecki). One more guest
might be announced soon because she or he had already signed a contract,
with three more going through negotiations right now.
There’s an interesting guessing game going on on Starfury
website as people are trying to figure out who are the remaining
guests. Sean gave us a few hints and one of them is this fact: none
of the guests from L6 will be at L7 Convention. It means there’s
a chance to see Laurel Holloman, Erin Daniels, Jennifer Beals (slight
chance but we can always hope, right?), Janina Gavankar, Daniela
Sea, Marlee Matlin, Holland Taylor, and even Ilene Chaiken.
Each Convention is also a wonderful chance to meet your old friends
and form new relationships, so maybe L7 Convention will indeed be
very lucky in many aspects. Don’t forget to visit http://www.seanharry.com/L7/index.htm
for more information on L7 and to buy your tickets. As of last week,
there were only few Gold tickets left, so if you want to be at Meet&Greet
and have the best seats in the house you’d better hurry.
If everything will go as planned for me, I will bring photos, reports
and interviews, as usual.
Keep checking this
thread on l-word.com where we will continue posting updates
and news regarding L7.
